LD Butch Allen regarding the No Doubt 2009 Tour, from the August 2009 issue of Lighting & Sound America:
The Icing on the cake, however, was fixture that was added at the last minute: the new 2500k Barco/High End SHOWBEAM 2.5.
"For a unit of it's size, it's very quick, very dependable, and beautiful light comes out of it. I fell in love with the thing right away." Allen admits. There are six Showbeams located offstage on two wing trusses, and they changed the look of the show dramatically. "It took us from being a traditional 60'-wide show, and really opened us up." he adds. The Showbeams put out fat, bright, showy beams to combat the video wall. "it's a death ray." he says with a chuckle.

"Rock am Ring festival happened June 5-7 in Germany: A three-day festival with 90,000 people a day with more than 90 bands headlined by the Killers, Prodigy, Slipknot, Placebo, Limp Bizkit and more. It was good to see that every band used the new fixtures and everyone was happy. And in the end, the SHOWBEAM 2.5s were looking great and gave my design exactly what I wanted them to do: have a big Beam - a double beam- fixture with the LED ring and all the other possibilities."

“First of all you can use SHOWBEAM 2.5 as a very powerful washlight. I love the colors, and I love the colors with the ring of LEDs and it works really well in the show with our circular trussing. The next thing is, at a moment’s notice, you can just turn on the Twin Beam effect and it’s pretty hallucinogenic because you go from a beam focus and then all of a sudden you’ve got this crazy two-beam focus that comes in, which is just awesome. It also has a cool oscillation effect. This is an effects-driven show and SHOWBEAM 2.5 adds to the layers of looks to match our layers of sound. The High End Systems products are very innovative and they work well for me personally.”
