Color frames with dichroics transmit only wanted frequencies, absorbing no unwanted energy which can cause heat buildup and lead to degradation. When compared with traditional color gel filters, dichroics achieve higher transmission, consistent color uniformity, and precision color definition. Because dichroic performance does not deteriorate with use, there are no additional replacements or labor costs.
