What video capture cards can I use with Catalyst, to serve as SDI (or other video signal) interfaces for video cameras and decks, DVD players and other video sources?
Catalyst can use various video capture cards for input from live video cameras, video decks, dvd players and other sources or devices. When choosing a video capture card, pick one based on your budget and requirements. In addition to PCI-e cards (PCI/PCI-x in older G5's), Catalyst can use video devices connected via FireWire.
Catalyst theoretically will use any video capture card that is compatible with Mac OS 10.4.x, 10.3.x (pre Mac Pro), and the G5 architecture.
Note: Simultaneous use of multipe video capture cards from different manufacturers can be done successfully, whereas simultaneous use of multiple video capture cards from the same manufacturer is not supported.
