What MacOS X and other software versions should I install?

Installing and integrating various software to create a powerful Catalyst system requires thorough testing and careful attention to software versioning and vendor recommendations.
Always refer to the product support page for the version of Catalyst software you own for any Service Bulletins regarding known software compatibility alerts.

High End Systems recommends the following operating software for use with Catalyst. Using Operating System Software versions not listed here could disable your server and prevent you from using your Catalyst Software as it was designed. Remember, this information is intended for the do-it-yourself Catalyst system builder -- everything has to be carefully tested for compatibility and interoperability with other system parts. PCI/PCI-X card, PCI-Express card and version info is provided as a courtesy only; for troubleshooting of components outside of the context of Catalyst, contact the manaufacturer.

Tip: Budget plenty of time (at least a day or two) for software installation, testing and troubleshooting. Make one change or software update at a time and test thoroughly to ensure your system is performing as you expect before making another change.
